Course Overview

 Nature-Based Urban Planning Training Course

Introduction

Nature-Based Urban Planning is an advanced approach to sustainable urban development that integrates ecosystems, green infrastructure, biodiversity, climate resilience, and ecological processes into urban planning and design. Nature-Based Urban Planning Training Course provides participants with practical and strategic knowledge of nature-based solutions, green-blue infrastructure, urban biodiversity, ecosystem services, climate adaptation, sustainable land-use planning, ecological restoration, and resilient city development. Participants will explore how cities can use forests, wetlands, parks, urban agriculture, green corridors, rain gardens, permeable surfaces, and restored waterways to address environmental, social, and economic challenges while improving urban quality of life.

The course emphasizes evidence-based planning, climate-smart urban development, environmental governance, sustainable infrastructure investment, and inclusive community engagement. Participants will examine international best practices and global case studies while developing practical skills for integrating nature-based solutions into master plans, zoning frameworks, infrastructure projects, regeneration programs, and climate adaptation strategies. The course also addresses financing, monitoring, policy integration, stakeholder collaboration, and the long-term management of nature-based urban interventions.
