Tropical Diseases Control Training Course
Tropical Diseases Control Training Course is designed to strengthen the capacity of healthcare professionals, public health practitioners, researchers, NGOs, and policymakers in the prevention, surveillance, diagnosis, outbreak response, and sustainable control of tropical and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).

Course Overview
Tropical Diseases Control Training Course
Introduction
Tropical Diseases Control Training Course is designed to strengthen the capacity of healthcare professionals, public health practitioners, researchers, NGOs, and policymakers in the prevention, surveillance, diagnosis, outbreak response, and sustainable control of tropical and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). The course integrates epidemiology, disease surveillance, vector control, climate-sensitive health systems, One Health strategies, digital health technologies, and emergency preparedness to address emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases affecting tropical populations.
This intensive program equips participants with practical competencies in malaria control, dengue prevention, zoonotic disease management, outbreak investigation, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), GIS disease mapping, health data analytics, WASH interventions, vaccination campaigns, and community health engagement. Through real-world case studies, simulations, and evidence-based learning, participants gain advanced skills required to support universal health coverage (UHC), global health security, sustainable disease elimination programs, and resilient healthcare systems in tropical settings.
Course Duration
5 days
Course Objectives
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand the epidemiology of tropical and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
- Apply advanced disease surveillance and outbreak investigation techniques.
- Strengthen vector-borne disease prevention and integrated vector management (IVM).
- Utilize digital health tools, GIS mapping, and health informatics for disease monitoring.
- Implement effective infection prevention and control (IPC) strategies.
- Design community-based health promotion and risk communication campaigns.
- Analyze the impact of climate change and environmental health risks on tropical diseases.
- Develop sustainable One Health approaches linking human, animal, and environmental health.
- Improve laboratory diagnostics and rapid response systems for infectious diseases.
- Support vaccination programs and immunization strategies in endemic regions.
- Address antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and emerging infectious disease threats.
